Mashex Siberia 2013: results

From 26 to 29 March 2013, ITE Siberian Fair held an international exhibition for machine building, metalworking and metallurgy under a new name - Mashex Siberia. The event, taking place for the 15th time, was held at Novosibirsk Expocentre.

170 exhibitors, including 16 companies from China, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Germany and Latvia, took part in Mashex Siberia 2013. Total exhibition space was 2,200 sqm, 24% higher than last year. 3,125 trade professionals visited the exhibition over the four days, most of them from Siberia.

A Bavarian collective participation was organised at Mashex Siberia for the first time. A group of seven Bavarian companies presented cleaning systems, torque limiters and safety brakes, filter systems for industrial use, control sensors and joysticks, lubricants, CAM strategies and solutions.

Kai Walliser, Bayern-International: “In 2010 a Bavarian business delegation headed by VDMA and Bayern International visited Novosibirsk and had the chance to learn about business opportunities and machine building exhibitions in Siberia. Most companies were happy with participation in the exhibition and noted a good visitor flow over the first two days. We are going to participate next year and we plan to attract new companies.”

Five industrial sectors were covered at the exhibition – machine building, metalworking, welding, metallurgy and industrial automation. DMG Russland, Abamet-NSK, Stankomashstroy, CEPR, Arsil, Megatools and Klingspor, Alfa Engineering were all among the exhibitors.

The Science and Production Cooperation Forum, organised by the Novosibirsk Subcontracting Centre together with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Business Development of the Novosibirsk Region, with presentations from production and consulting company representatives, was held as part of an extensive business programme. A discussion on “Why was maintenance system and equipment repair abolished in industrial companies?” was also organised as part of the forum, with representatives from large regional firms such as Trud Plant, Novosibirsk Chemical Plant and Akor Direkt showing real interest in the event.

The 11th “Issues of Enhancing Metal Processing Efficiency at the Current Stage” National Annual Workshop Conference was held on 27 March. The conference examined current issues in this area, looked at how to engineer and manufacture advanced technological equipment and metal processing tools, and facilitated discussion of organisation and management processes for innovation in the industry. This conference was organised by Orgstankiprom, Mashservicepribor, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Metal Processing magazine, Kuzbass State Technical University, I.I Polzunov Altay State Technical University, Biysk Technology Institute and Tomsk Polytechnic University.

Mashex Siberia 2013 finished with the traditional awards ceremony for the winners of ITE Siberian Fair’s Gold Medal Contest.

Mashex Siberia 2014 will be held from 25-28 March 2014 at Novosibirsk Expocentre.
